This program is designed to provide students a range of literacy, numeracy, and
general employment skills.
The learning is designed to connect with industry and the workplace to best assist
students in understanding the context for learning.
IVET seeks to help students understand ‘why’ the skills are important and ‘how’ the skills
and learning will help the student in their future.
IVET finds application of the skills required in a basic workplace context can help
remove the fear or trepidation associated with numeracy & literacy when students
are behind their peers in terms of skill development. Projects are designed to focus on
work and workplace outcomes to remove the spotlight from the numeracy or literacy
component.
