For most VET teachers you will already hold a TAE40110 Certification. To stay compliant with the new ASQA requirements effective March 31st, 2019 – You may simply need to complete 1-2 more units to get your TAE Upgrade  (TAE40116)

Q: I currently hold the superseded TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. What do I need to do to meet the new requirements?
A: In addition to holding the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, you will need to hold:

  • Either one of the following:
    • TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills
    • TAELLN401A Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills
  • Plus one of the following:
    • TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools
    • TAEASS502A Design and develop assessment tools
    • TAEASS502B Design and develop assessment tools.

Some trainers and assessors who hold the TAE40110 may have completed one or more of the relevant units as electives or as part of ongoing professional development. If you do not currently hold the relevant units, you will need to complete them before 1 April 2019 to meet the new requirements.

The TAE Training Package was updated in April 2016, with the core units ‘Design and develop assessment tools’ and ‘Address adult language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills’ being added to the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Teachers, trainers and assessors who do not hold the relevant units will have until 1 April 2019 to meet the new credential requirements.

How It Works

Use our online TAE Calculator to determine the units you need to get upgraded – Provide your current TAE units of competence Provide your recent work history. Our calculator will identify which units of the new TAE that are obtainable via Credit Transfer, via RPL or requiring an updated assessment to be completed. Any remaining units will be identified as requiring training and assessment.

PRE-ENROL CHECKLIST

Before you start make sure you have the following items ready and on hand, for a smooth registration and enrolment.

  • A digital copy of your most current CV that  you can upload.
  • A digital copy of your current TAE qualifications
  • A digital copy of results that may be applicable for credit transfers. You will be required to upload a Record f Results as evidence of your qualifications.
  • The unit codes of all units of qualification. You will be required to submit each unit code you wish to apply for a credit transfer.
  • A valid credit card if you wish to pay yourself.
  • If your school will be paying, you will need to declare that you are authorised as a representative of my school to apply for this curse and 100% of the fees for this course will be covered by my school.
